Just Some Pictures

My cute Mom checks our blog every day looking for updates. She'll talk to Cate on the phone in morning, check the blog, call in the afternoon, check the blog, and then, when I talk to her after Cate is in bed she'll say, "I was just reading your blog." Clearly, most of the time when she visits the blog she comes up wanting. And so tonight's double post is dedicated to Grandma!

Peter on our bed.

And on our bed again. New day, new outfit, same cute face.

The children's* room, where they have not yet co-slept (I'm pretty sure the first night of that will warrant its own blog post):

*Children's? Childrens'? Katie and Becca, I double checked on that plural possessive just for you. (I don't want to be annoying my most loyal readers with punctuation mistakes, now do I?)

Peter's Blessing

Peter was blessed in church a couple Sundays ago. It was so great to have Nana and Granddad and Aunt Lauren in town for the occasion! It was also Aunt Lauren's birthday! Of course, I didn't think to take pictures of the food or festivities after church, but here are a few shots from the day.

Peter's blessing was lovely. In it, Sam mentioned Peter's patience and his ability to be a calming influence in our family. He has already proven to be the most mellow of the four of us. What a cool little guy he is. We love having him in our family!

Here we all are at the end of the day: Nana, Sam, Peter, me, Cate, Granddad and Lauren

Next, the evolution of a kiss:

Mmmmwwwaaaaah!

What's next?

And here's one from the weekend that I just love:
Just look at those happy cherubs and their proud Granddad!

Sleepy Head

Bless his heart, Peter has made the transition from one little monkey to two as easy as it could possibly be. Cate gets some credit, too, because she has been such a sweetie with him. But mostly Peter eats and sleeps. He wakes up for a couple hours in between and when he does his little eyes are wide open while he looks around checking us out. I never seem to have the camera around when he's awake, but isn't he cute when he's asleep:

Sam's mom made me promise I'd never let Sam sleep with our babes unattended. So I don't. But why would I go anywhere else when I can see this adorable sight:

Sunday nap time.

And speaking of not having the camera around (which I was, a minute ago) today I missed the best photo op ever. I introduced Cate to the movie Annie. And oh boy, was that fun. She insisted on holding Peter while we watched. And, no joke, my little Cate held him (without hitting him, pulling his hair, or flailing him off her lap) for about half an hour! And he was snug as a bug, awake the whole time, just sitting there in her arms. Every few minutes Cate would look at me adoringly, then smoosh her little face against Peter's for one of her signature loud, wet kisses. Peter would wince, collect himself, and snuggle back in to her arms. Gosh, I love those two. Maybe next time I'll get the camera before we get cozy. I just couldn't stop watching them (and didn't dare leave them unattended--ack! I'm not that confident in C yet!) long enough to get the camera.

IT'S A BOY!

Cate is going to have a little brother and we couldn't be more thrilled about it.

Doc sent us home with some photos of his bum, but there's no way I'm posting them. Not even saving them, in fact. I feel like we've violated the little guy's privacy enough already.

Suffice it to say, IT'S A BOY!

We love you already, Peter Boy!
